Archaeologists and archaeology enthusiasts around the world are currently busy planning events for the month of October that celebrate all aspects of archaeology.
During two weekends in October the John D. Cooper Archaeological and Paleontological Center will host an education and activity booth at local zoos and parks to engage children and adults and promote National Archaeology Day.
The Mead Art Museum of Amherst College will promote National Archaeology Day 2012 through four events in the month of October.
The Museum of Science, Boston, will partner with the AIA on National Archaeology Day and will once again host the 6th Annual AIA-MOS Archaeology Fair this October 19-20.
The Fort Daniel Foundation will hold their 4th Annual Frontier Faire at the site of the Fort Daniel frontier and 1812 war fort in Hog Mountain, Georgia this October.
As preparations for International Archaeology Day pick up speed, more groups sign on daily. Today, four new groups joined the cause.
The Society for California Archaeology has signed on as a collaborating organization for International Archaeology Day.
