International Archaeology Day Blog
On National Archaeology Day, as part of Ohio Archaeology Month and national Earth Science Week, AIA members took part in Archaeology and Earth Science Day at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
For National Archaeology Day members of the AIA-Gainesville Society staffed a display table outside of a popular local public library branch, the Millhopper Library.
On October 22, 2011 the Milwaukee Society hosted an open house, organized by Prof. Bettina Arnold, at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Archaeological Research Laboratory.
On National Archaeology Day, the Central Mississippi chapter participated in the Mississippi Archaeology Expo held on the campus of Millsaps College.
On the afternoon of October 22nd, undergraduates from local universities around Grand Rapids, Michigan shared their experiences as members of archaeological projects and explained results of independent research through powerpoint and poster presentations.
Volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage.
After two years of great success, National Archaeology Day will change to International Archaeology Day for 2013.
The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair.
