On October 23, 2011 at the University of Richmond, the Richmond Society of the AIA held an open house for National Archaeology Day.
On National Archaeology Day the Central Arizona Society participated in a mudslinging activity at Pueblo Grande Museum in Phoenix, AZ.
The AIA-Stanford Society celebrated National Archaeology Day with four public tours of the Stanford Museum.
For National Archaeology Day, members of the AIA headquarters staff spent part of the day on Boston Common celebrating the day with passersby.
The nation’s first National Archaeology Day, recognized as October 22 by the U.S. Congress, was celebrated across the country by the Archaeological Institute of America, its local societies, and other related organizations.
