Join us for International Archaeology Day!

There are many ways to participate in International Archaeology Day:
The success of International Archaeology Day is greatly enhanced by our sponsors. For more information about how to become a sponsor for International Archaeology Day 2013, please contact Ben Thomas (bthomas@aia.bu.edu or 617-353-8708).
Many organizations join the Archaeological Institute of America and its 108 Local Societies across the U.S., Canada, and abroad to celebrate International Archaeology Day by hosting an event and including it on the International Archaeology Day calendar.
For information on how your organization can become a Collaborating Organization for International Archaeology Day, please see the Collaborating Organzation information page.
In order to make Archaeology Day a truly global event, volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage. We are using Google translation software that allows for users to correct translations. Knowing the limitations of these translations, we need fluent volunteers to help monitor and correct the pages in order to reach audiences around the world this year. To sign up, please email Meredith Langlitz indicating the language(s) (besides English) that you are fluent in.
Organizations that would like to participate in International Archaeology Day but cannot host events can still become Collaborating Organizations by promoting International Archaeology Day to their contacts.
For information on how your organization can become a Collaborating Organization for International Archaeology Day, please see the Collaborating Organzation information page.
In 2012, over 100 events were organized across the United States, Canada, and Europe to celebrate National Archaeology Day. Check back later in March for when we activate our International Archaeology Day calendar!
In addition to having a blog, International Archaeology Day is on Facebook and Twitter. Be sure to use the hashtag #NatlArkyDay when tweeting about International Archaeology Day!
Opportunities to celebrate International Archaeology Day through participate in online ativities will be available closer to International Archaeology Day.
In the meanwhile, please send us suggestions for other sites for inclusion on the google earth layer of archaeological sites in North America that the AIA unveiled for International Archaeology Day 2011.
The Society for California Archaeology has signed on as a collaborating organization for International Archaeology Day.
2013's International Archaeology Day sees the return of many collaborating organizations from years past!
