Burial Hill Burying Ground
As Plymouth approaches the 400th anniversary of the landing of the colonists in 1620, one of the important questions that needs to be asked is if there are any traces of the original settlement left in today’s developed downtown. The historical records indicate that the fort/meetinghouse was located on top of what is now known as Burial Hill. How big was it? How was it constructed? Join archaeologist Craig Chartier of Plymouth Archaeological Rediscovery Project and the Friends of Burial Hill as we try to find answers to these questions as a survey is conducted with the use of ground penetrating radar. Join us for a unique opportunity to discover history.
Rain date October 13.
