Hear muskets fire! Feel cannon roar! See the American Revolution come to life!
FestiFall is the largest annual event offered by the Spartanburg County Historical
Association. This two-day living history festival brings over 200 re-enactors to Walnut
Grove Plantation to camp and re-enact a Revolutionary skirmish on the first weekend in
Oct. each year. In addition to battle reenactments, dozens of other reenactors
demonstrate colonial-era crafts and trades. See a blacksmith working at his forge, a
cooper making buckets, as well as a broom maker, a basket maker, a surveyor, a
gunsmith, a woodworker, a weaver, a soap maker, and dozens of other artisans. Young
visitors can make their own candles, play with colonial-era toys and games with period
authentic toys, and write with quill feathers. Bring a picnic lunch or purchase BBQ in the
pavilion. There is free parking on site.
The Sat. Battle Reenactments are at noon and 2:30 PM. The Sun. Battle Reenactment is at 2:30 PM. FestFall is part of the Upstate Revolutionary War Weekend, a series of special events taking place on the first weekend in Oct. at Cowpens National Battlefield, Kings Mountain National Military Park, and Walnut Grove Plantation.
