The Louisiana State University Rural Life Museum will hold a public tour of the Chatsworth Plantation quarters area, lead by archaeological principal investigator Dennis Jones. This project is a collaboration between academia (LSU Rural Life Museum) and industry (PNK Entertainment Co.), employing cultural resource management (CRM) personnel. This is a 2 yr project and included investigations at the plantation sugarmill and quarters area to satisfy Section 106 requirements. The project employs undergraduate and graduate students from Louisiana State University, as well as CRM archaeologists.
Guests will park at the L'auberge Casino and Hotel, located at 777 L'auberge Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA, 70820, where vans will leave every 1/2 hour for a guided tour of the site and excavations currently underway.
