The Beaverhead County Museum along with Project Archaeology and University of Montana Western will combine efforts to offer a teacher/student Archaeology Day for the region. The U of M Western teacher candidates will have the opportunity to study the effectiveness of Project Archaeology-Investigating Shelter curriculum. They will learn to use the curriculum, present the lessons according to CCSS-STEM guidelines. Our classroom will be in and around Beaverhead County Museum!
On October 15th all educators, teachers and schools are invited to take part in the lessons presented on Archaeology Day.
On October 17th, 2013, a workshop will be offered to all educators and for those seeking professional development. The workshop will instruct others in using the Project Archaeology curriculum- Investigating Shelter. We encourage the community to stop by, observe the activities and help celebrate our cultural heritage.
