Archeology Day activities include "Archeology in Texas" Exhibit; mock digs for indian artifacts and fossils; a metal detection pit; and a forest scavenger hunt. Site tours of the endangered Kaufman "County Poor Farm" property will be offered.
Children will take a step back in time to experience old time games, story telling, hands-on demonstrations making clay pinch pots, quill pen writing, corn husk dolls, and much more. These presentations will provide an opportunity for students to discover the lifestyle and culture of their ancestors, as well as learn the importance of preserving history for generations to come.
