Students will uncover the science of archaeology through hands on activities and demonstrations. We will be partnering with the Bureau of Land Management, the Forest Service, The Wyoming Archaeological Association, as well as well known archaeologist Dr. Lawrence Todd. We will be looking at different aspects of archaeology unique to Wyoming; ceramics, lithics, rock art, comparative bone physiology through zooarchaeology, and a timeline of human occupation in the state. We will be offering two sessions to approximately 200 students. Our goal is to inspire and engage these students and get them excited about the world around them and to understand their responsibility. The flow through theme will be the heritage message of stewardsip.
