The AIA-Southwest Texas Archaeological Society (http://www.trinity.edu/org/swtas/) will join other archaeological groups in celebrating Texas Archaeology Month at the old Spanish mission San Jose in San Antonio, TX on October 8th from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The society will focus on the Old World in the New World, presenting costumed re-enactors, information, and activities on Roman, Greek, Celtic, Viking, and Meso-American cultures. For children, a large Roman arch-building kit and 3-D models of the church of San Jose and Concepcion offer challenging ways to learn about architecture. This activity is free and open to the public. See the National Missions Park website for more information: http://www.nps.gov/saan/index.htm
