Tubac Presidio State Historic Park will collaborate with Tumacacori National Historical Park to provide special tours of two unique archaeological sites on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Join Philip Halpenny and Gwen Griffin for a special tour of the Spanish colonial archaeological site south of the Presidio that preserves the remains of the original 1752 Tubac town site (10am to11:30am). The site is protected by the Archaeological Conservancy and participants are asked to sign 'An Acknowledgement of Risk Factors' before entering the site. Afterward enjoy a bring-your-own picnic lunch in either Park's attractive picnic areas before joining archaeologist Jeremy Moss at 12:30pm for a special archaeological tour of Tumacacori mission,  established by Father Kino in January 1691, making it the oldest mission site in Arizona. Please email info@tubacpp.com or call (520) 398-2252 to reserve a place for this special event. There is a $15 per person charge which includes admission to both Parks.
