Project Description

The burial mound at Bobald is situated in close proximity to a Tell-like settlement discovered  in 1906, which was extensively studied thereafter. More stages of habitation were well  documented here from Neolithic, Early Bronze Age, Middle Bronze Age and Early Middle  Ages. However, the burial mound itself was never the subject of an excavation project and  remained basically untouched. We can only assume that the mound dates from the III-rd or IInd millennium BC (Early or Middle Bronze Age). Therefore, our primary objective this year  is to set a more accurate chronological scale for this archaeological site.
