PB Americas has an immediate opening for a senior archaeologist. The position involves assisting the Supervising Archeologist in the planning and oversight of Cultural Resources investigations, assisting with research, fieldwork, analysis, and report preparation. The ability to work well with other staff and to meet project deadlines is essential, as is the ability to produce high quality technical writing. It is anticipated that the applicant will have a specialization in either historic or prehistoric archeological resources of the Middle Atlantic Region; however, familiarity with both kind of resources is preferred. Familiarity with Section 106 and other cultural regulatory systems and their integration into the NEPA documentation process is also be highly desirable. Specific project assignments could include work on regionally significant transportation (highway, transit, ports, and airports) projects throughout the Middle Atlantic Region, however work in other market sectors (power, utilities, facilities, etc) and travel out of the region is a possibility.
A Master degree in Anthropology or other allied field with a specialization in archeology. Applicants should have the equivalent of 5 years full-time experience in direct archeological investigations (including a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience). The successful applicant will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and should have excellent written and communication skills. Applicants should possess basic knowledge of MS Word Office applications and be comfortable using a digital camera and a 35 mm camera. Working knowledge of GIS applications and handheld Global Positioning System technology is highly desirable. Ability to work in the United States immediately is required. EOE
