Cultural/Natural Resource Specialists perform a broad range of professional and technical work involving cultural/natural resource assessment, programming, funding, evaluation, survey, inventory, preservation, research, education, planning, mitigation, and recovery. These duties are not required for all positions.
Multiple vacancies located with the Environmental Services Division, Carson City. Incumbent will be responsible for archaeological projects to include consultation with Federal, State and local agencies and tribes; develop and continue a close working relationship with project proponents and maintenance staff; surveying, reporting, analyzing and mitigating projects; and maintain timelines and deadlines for projects.

Education and Experience
1)Graduate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in history, architectural history, historical preservation, art history, archaeology, anthropology, or a closely related field; and one year experience performing professional cultural/natural resource work in research, field work, collection, cataloging, analysis and preservation of artifacts and other data; OR graduation from an accredited college or university in with major course work in history, architectural history, historical preservation, art history, archaeology, anthropology, or a closely related field; and two years experience as described above; OR two years at the Cultural/Natural Resource Specialist I level in Nevada State service.
1)Applicants' professional qualifications must meet federal and State requirements to manage cultural/natural resource programs and/or to receive the Principal Investigator designation.
