The Department of Classical Studies at Tulane University seeks a visiting assistant professor for the academic year 2011-2012.   The teaching load is three courses each semester and will include CLAS 1000 (“The Rise of Rome,” cross-listed with the History Dept.) and CLAS 1040 (“Classical Mythology”) as well as one or more of the following:  CLAS 3190 (“Pompeii”), CLAS 3120 (“Etruscans”) and CLAS 3180 (“Roman Art & Archaeology”).  Renewal for a second year may be possible.  Further information about the department and its programs can be found at http://www.tulane.edu/~classics/.  Candidates should send a letter of interest, a brief description of other courses they would like to teach, and a curriculum vitae to:  jcarter@tulane.edu.  All attachments should contain the candidate’s name.
