AIA Lecturer: Mark Aldenderfer

Dr. Mark Aldenderfer is Dean and Professor at the University of California at Merced. After receiving his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University, he taught at SUNY-Buffalo, Northwestern, UC Santa Barbara, and University of Arizona before coming to UC at Merced. He specializes in the archaeological analysis of foraging societies and the cultural and biological adaptations made by societies in high altitudes. Much of his research has been completed in the Peruvian Andes, but he has also worked in the Himalayas of Central Asia.
