Nancy Wilkie

Nancy C. Wilkie is the William H. Laird Professor of Classics, Anthropology and the Liberal Arts at Carleton College.  She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Greek from the University of Minnesota, and her B.A. in Classics from Stanford University.  Her areas of specialization are prehistoric Greece, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, and cultural property issues.  Since 2003 she has served as a member of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee with the U.S. Department of State.  Her main publications include “Governmental Agencies and the Protection of Cultural Property in Times of War” (in Antiquities Under Siege. Cultural Heritage Protection After the Iraq War, L. Rothfield ed., 2008).  Professor Wilkie is Past-President of the AIA, and was an AIA Norton Lecturer in 2009/2010.
