Professor Susann S. Lusnia is Associate Professor of Classical Studies with Tulane University.  She earned her degrees at Mary Washington College, and the University of Cincinnati (M.A. and Ph.D.), and her research interests are the archaeology of Italy and the Roman Empire, Severan Rome, politics and propaganda in Roman art and architecture, urban topography and the monuments of ancient Rome.  She has done fieldwork at the Bir-el-Knissia excavations at Carthage, and at Troy.  She has held a Rome Prize Fellowship and Fulbright Grant, and her main publications include Creating Severan Rome: The Architecture and Self-Image of L. Septimus Severus (forthcoming).
