Information for Delegates

The 135th Annual Meeting of the Council of the Archaeological Institute of America will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Chicago Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, IL. The Annual Meeting offers you the opportunity to learn about the past year's accomplishments and to offer input and guidance as we shape the future of the Institute. Thank you for your participation.

The Council Meeting will be the final event of Dr. Elizabeth Bartman's presidency of the AIA. Elections will be held for a number of officers and members of the Governing Board as we transition to our next group of AIA leaders. All of us offer our most sincere thanks to Liz for her leadership over the last three years, and to the Officers and Trustees for their contributions to the Institute.

Please familiarize yourself with the Instructions for Delegates and Limited Proxies, which outlines procedures for attending the meeting, voting by absentee ballot, and designating a limited proxy. Follow all instructions carefully to insure that your vote is properly registered in accordance with AIA Regulations.

AIA Council Packet:
The packet contains a preliminary agenda for the meeting and all supporting materials, including Candidate Biographies and Statements, Final Officer Reports, and more.

Electronic Absentee Ballot:
If you are unable to attend the meeting in Chicago, please download a copy of the Absentee Ballot PDF and mark your responses. Save a copy of your votes and email it to echristian@aia.bu.edu by December 24, 2013. You may also fax a copy of your responses to: 617.353.6550, or mail a hard copy to the address below.

Limited Proxy Designation Form:
If you complete an Absentee Ballot, you may also choose to appoint a Limited Proxy to represent you at the meeting. For full instructions and to submit your Limited Proxy Designation, you may fill out the form online. You may also mail or fax a print copy of this form, available here.

All Absentee Ballots and Limited Proxy Designation Forms, if mailed, must be postmarked no later than December 24, 2013. Electronic copies and faxes may be submitted to echristian@aia.bu.edu (fax: 617.353.6550) no later than December 24, 2013.
