National Archaeology Day Celebrations Kick Off in Boston
October 19, 2012
The National Archaeology Day celebrations started a day early in Boston with the opening of the 6th Annual Archaeological Institute of America-Museum of Science Archaeology Fair. The two-day event will see thousands of visitors participating in interactive archaeological activities presented by local archaeological groups. Activities this year include stamping your name in hieroglyphs, learning to map underwater archaeological sites, trying on Roman armor, mock excavations, flintknapping demonstrations, playing games from the ancient Near East, and much more!
The Site Preservation Program is funding the San Bartolo Mural Project thanks to a special gala pledge drive.
Three of the AIA’s professional members were awarded fellowships from the American Council of Learned Societies at the 2013 ACLS Annual Meeting.
