AIA Societies Meet at Annual Meeting
January 7, 2012
At the AIA Societies Breakfast Meeting, representatives of the AIA from across the country came together to review activities of the past year and to brainstorm ideas to strengthen participation and to engage more AIA members on the local level.
Members reviewed the first National Archaeology Day, held last October, and shared their success stories. In addition, they discussed the National Lecture Program and Society Outreach Grants. Conversations and society presentations focused on how to engage AIA members in the community, how to encourage more students to partcipate in the AIA, and setting goals for the future.
The Site Preservation Program is funding the San Bartolo Mural Project thanks to a special gala pledge drive.
Three of the AIA’s professional members were awarded fellowships from the American Council of Learned Societies at the 2013 ACLS Annual Meeting.
