2008 AIA Archaeology Fair

The 8th annual Archaeology Fair was held during the Annual Meeting at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on Sunday, January 6, 2008, from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Professional archaeologists from throughout the United States were present to engage educators and families in the art, science, history, and culture of the human past, as discovered through hands-on activities and demonstrations.
On May 9, the AIA held a summit meeting to discuss new directions for the AIA and archaeology in K-12 Education.
Last weekend, the AIA participated in Family Science Days at Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
This year’s contest featured eight projects doing outreach alongside excavation in Bulgaria, Cambodia, Egypt, India, Macedonia, New York, North Carolina, and Pakistan.
The 13th Annual Archaeology Fair, held at the Burke Museum, helped bring archaeology to hundreds of Seattle-area residents.
