And the Kindle Goes to....
October 23, 2012
Jason Tiearney, a member of the AIA-St. Louis Society, is the grand prize winner of the 2012 National Archaeology Day Scavenger Hunt. This year's grand prize is the newly-released Kindle Fire HD.
The 2012 Scavenger Hunt presented a puzzle a day for five days leading to National Archaeology Day. Puzzles challenged participants to identify archaeological sites from aerial images, match archaeological sites to the movies they appeared in, recognize famous archaeologists, and more. The Scavenger Hunt, started in 2011, provides a digital way for people to participate in National Archaeology Day celebrations.
For each correct submission for the Scavenger Hunt, contestants were given one entry into the raffle for the grand prize. The AIA would also like to congratulate the following daily winners who won a one-year membership to the AIA:
We hope everyone enjoyed this year's Scavenger Hunt and look forward to putting together more fun puzzles for next year!
Volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage.
After two years of great success, National Archaeology Day will change to International Archaeology Day for 2013.
The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair.
