National Archaeology Day at Wickliffe Mounds
October 25, 2012
The Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site presented a special archaeology for kids exhibit for National Archaeology Day with hands-on activities, free posters, site protection information and archaeology interpreters. Local archaeologist from Murray State University provided a guided tour of the archaeological site at Wickliffe Mounds. There were 56 participants throughout the day who toured the site and museum.
Volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage.
After two years of great success, National Archaeology Day will change to International Archaeology Day for 2013.
The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair.
