Cleveland Archaeological Society and Museum of Natural History Join Together for Archaeology Fair
November 5, 2012
As part of the National Archaeology Day celebrations, the AIA-Cleveland Society, joined the Cleveland Museum of Natural History on October 13 to promote archaeology and earth sciences. This family friendly event featured interactive opportunities for archaeologists young and old to ‘restore’ pottery sherds, explore archaeological tools and methods, and learn more about archaeological work in northeast Ohio. Once again, the "AIA mummy" proved a popular photo op for visitors! Over 200 people visited the Archaeology Fair, making this one of the Cleveland Archeological Society's most successful outreach events of the year!
As preparations for International Archaeology Day pick up speed, more groups sign on daily. Today, four new groups joined the cause.
The Society for California Archaeology has signed on as a collaborating organization for International Archaeology Day.
2013's International Archaeology Day sees the return of many collaborating organizations from years past!
