AIA joined by Institute of Archaeology – Belize for International Archaeology Day 2013

The Institute of Archaeology–Belize, a government based organization dedicated to the preservation of Belize’s cultural heritage has joined International Archaeology Day. The organization will host events on October 18 and 19, including an archaeology fair in Belmopan for elementary school students, an essay contest for high school students, and a site tour for various local schools at an archaeological site in San Ignacio. They anticipate upwards of 400 students to be involved in all the events. Information on these events will be posted on the International Archaeology Day Calendar when details are available.
International Archaeology Day in Anchorage, Alaska was hosted by archaeologists from the state and federal level at University of Anchorage.
For International Archaeology Day, the Oriental Institute hosted a film screening "Breaking Ground: the Story of the Oriental Institute."
