The first International Archaeology Day at The Rooms event was a big success with more than 30 volunteers and over 100 people in attendance. Adults and kids alike had fun learning about shipwrecks, viewing artifacts brought out of the vaults, trying their hand at digging, and watching stone tools being made.
University of Alaska Anchorage hosted International Archaeology Day on October 19th.
The Northeast Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network hosted an Archaeology Bar Crawl through downtown St. Augustine in honor of International Archaeology Day.
The Commission to Preserve National Monuments celebrated the International Archaeology Day with a series of events titled "Cultural Memory, a Vanishing Treasure: Archaeological Heritage of BiH."
