Best AIA Local Society Program Contest
Congratulations to the AIA-Milwaukee Society, whose Lab open house on "The Archaeology of Food and Drink" was voted the best Society program or event that took place between September 1, 2012, and April 30, 2013.
The AIA is dedicated to promoting archaeology to the wider public. Our commitment to public outreach is evident in the hundreds of public events we organize each year including lectures, archaeology fairs, the Annual Meeting, and the emphasis of the Site Preservation Program.

The Stafford Civil War Sites in Virginia held its grand opening in April 2013.
On May 9, the AIA held a summit meeting to discuss new directions for the AIA and archaeology in K-12 Education.
The Site Preservation Program is funding the San Bartolo Mural Project thanks to a special gala pledge drive.
The North Alabama Society will host a fundraiser which will feature a lecture by Egyptologist Dr. Sarah Parcak of the University of Alabama Birmingham as well as wines of the Mediterranean region.
