AIA Local Society Program Contest
The AIA is looking for the best Society program or event that took place between May 1, 2013 and April 30, 2014. Enter your program or event for a chance to win $200 for your Society!
From now through May 4th, Society members will have a chance to submit their event or program using our online form. To enter the contest, tell us about your program or event in 100 words or less and upload a photo to accompany it.
From May 7th to May 13th AIA members will be asked to vote for their favorite! You will be able to vote once per day during that period, so remember to e-mail your Society and remind them to vote every day!
The AIA is dedicated to promoting archaeology to the wider public. Our commitment to public outreach is evident in the hundreds of public events we organize each year including lectures, archaeology fairs, the Annual Meeting, and the emphasis of the Site Preservation Program.
The most recent Site Preservation Grant was awarded to a preservation and outreach project at Narce, Italy.
CPAC will discuss Egypt's recent request for import restrictions on archaeological materials and conduct an interim review of the Nicaragua MoU.
Nominate a deserving individual or institution for the CHM Award by May 1, 2014.
The Kentucky Society will host an exhibition on the results of three seasons of archaeological investigations at the site of Monte Palazzi, in the southern Italian region of Calabria. Afterwards, the exhibit will be taken to Italy and will be put on permanent display with bilingual captions in the village of Cassari near Monte Palazzi.
