About SAIG
Joining the SAIG is a great way for students to become more involved in the AIA, to network with other members of the AIA, to gain organizational and administrative experience within the AIA, and to take part in activities that will help students build up their CVs . The committee is composed entirely of students who are working to promote student interests within the AIA.

The SAIG sponsors a number of initiatives, including, at the AIA annual meeting: student paper colloquia, workshops on topics of interest to students, orientation of first-time student attendees at the meeting, and an informal dinner for students who want to network and meet their peers from other universities. The SAIG also provides student liaisons to the AIA Archaeology in American Higher Education and AIA Societies and Membership Committees, and we publish occasional notices on topics of interest to students in the AIA Newsletter. At present we are compiling a tip sheet to help students attend the Annual Meeting on a student budget, and we are also coordinating a letter writing campaign in support of legislation to prevent the further looting of archaeological sites and museums in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The SAIG is open to all student (as well as non-student) members of the AIA, and we welcome your input and ideas as we plan for another year of student initiatives. Please join us in our endeavors to help students make the most of the AIA! For further information, contact Stephanie Pryor at stephaniepryor@mizzou.edu.
