AIA Supports Cypriot Import Restrictions
The AIA has sent a letter to the Cultural Property Advisory Committee at the U.S. Department of State in support of continuing import restrictions on Classical and Pre-Classical archaeological materials and on Byzantine ecclesiastical objects from Cyprus. "The looting of coins from archaeological sites is a significant problem throughout the world, and especially on the island of Cyprus," writes AIA President C. Brian Rose in a letter supporting the inclusion of coins in the Cypriot request.
