Forensic Archaeology with Dennis Dirkmaat, PhD, D-ABFA: This five-day course covers the search for, documentation, recovery, and interpretation of human remains from surface scatters, burials, fatal fires, and mass disaster scenes, use of cadaver dogs, laboratory interpretation of postmortem alterations to remains (taphonomy), traditional paper-based mapping techniques, and advanced documentation using an electronic total station and survey-grade GPS.
