Cemeteries as Outdoor Museums

Cemeteries are valuable places of learning and are a largely underutilized type of outdoor history. Join the Jacksonville Historical Society in collaboration with the Florida Public Archaeology Network as they explore the lessons and history they can discover at historic cemeteries. Learn about:
-the archaeological process
-the use iconography and headstone styles to date sites
-preservation and dating techniques.

JHS Members – free. Non-members – suggested donation of $10.
Refreshments 6:30pm. Presentation 7pm.
Parking is available behind the church.
