The Chandler Historical Museum will sponsor a mock dig for children at the annual city festival (Pow Wow). A 15 x 15 area will be gridded with “treasures” (donated coins). Children ages 3-12 will be given sifters, shovels, gloves and assigned a specific area to practice excavating. Those visiting the mock dig will be given information about Texas archeology and how they can participate. The dig site will be in a shaded area on the north side of the park.
