Digging Manisses: Block Island’s Recent Archaeological Contributions to Understanding Rhode Island’s Native American Past

Block Island is Rhode Island’s largest offshore island. Native Americans routinely visited this popular destination spot then known as Manisses for more than 6,000 years. Join professional archaeologist Jay Waller for a presentation on recent investigations at two Block Island Native American sites that were excavated during construction of the Block Island Wind Farm, the United States’ first offshore wind farm.
