Florida Panhandle Maritime National Heritage Area Meeting

Join the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) and the Askew Instiute for Multidisciplinary Studies (AIMS) for the fourth meeting regarding the possiblity of designating the Florida Panhandle as a National Heritage Area (NHA) and latest updates on the feasibility study.  NHAs in the USA are places where historic, cultural, and natural resources combine to from cohesive, nationally important landscapes.  Unlike national parks, NHAs are large, lived-in landscapes.  A desiganted NHA receives recurring Federal funding and technical support from the National Park Service.
