Guided Walking Tours––Native American Lifeways / Battle of Congaree Creek

October 27, 2018 @ 3:00 pm EDT

Cayce Tennis Center
1120 Fort Congaree Trail
Cayce, SC 29033 United States

On Sat. at 1 PM, there will be a walking tour to discover Native American Lifeways in the 12,000-Year History Park that will provide interesting insights on the lifeways and strategic roles Native Americans played in the economy and welfare of the Carolina colony and later periods. It also demonstrates how historic resources of the park are relevant to the lives and culture of Native peoples today, including the Cherokees, Catawbas, and other living groups.

At 3 PM, there will be another guided walking tour where you will hear stories of soldier and civilian accounts of what happened during the burning of Columbia.

Both tours will entail a two-mile, 60-90-minute guided walking tour and will start at the Cayce Tennis Center. It is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water. To register for the tours, please visit:  https://guidedwalkingtoursoncongareecreek.evenbrite.com.
