You are cordially invited to attend the ground breaking ceremony for the future site of the Hitt Archaeology Center on Thursday, October 11 at 3:00 pm next to the Brawdus Martin Fort Germanna Visitor Center, 2062 Germanna Highway in Locust Grove, Virginia.
This new center is made possible by a generous gift from Russell and Joan Hitt. The facility will contain space for cleaning, cataloging, and storage of artifacts from archaeological work at the four Germanna Foundation properties.
Speakers at the ground breaking include Germanna Foundation President Marc Wheat, Foundation archaeologist Dr. Eric Larsen, and Orange County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tammy Collins. Light refreshments will be served in the Visitor Center after the ground breaking.
