VIRTUAL - HYBRID - International Archaeology Day Competition

To celebrate International Archaeology Day, The Institute of Archaeology shall launch a competition to foster creativity and create awareness of our cultural heritage. The creative outlets shall be a poem and a slogan competition open to High School and Sixth Form students, and the best of each category shall win the prize: a guided tour of Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM Cave) by archaeologists of the IA. 

The prize is all expenses paid (enterance, gear, tour & lunch) and is for the winner of each category plus one (1) guest.

 

Criteria

Poem:

– 20 lines or less

– Must focus on positive aspects of archaeological cultural heritage in Belize

Slogan:

– No more than ten (10) words

– <Must focus on positive aspects of archaeological cultural heritage in Belize

 

Deadline for submissions would be October 20, 2018 and winners will be announced after. Conditions of the prize apply such as the tour being done on a weekend only and the winner has to be over 40 inches tall. Winning submissions will be posted on our social media and winning slogan will be used in our ongoing public outreach and educational programs.

A consolation prize will be given to second place winners (plus one guest) being a tour of Cahal Pech and Xunantunich All expenses paid (enterance, tour & lunch) by the archaeologists of the IA.
