Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe

The planetarium program “Mayan Astronomers: Observers of the Universe” will be shown every Saturday and Sunday in October at 1:30 p.m.  The presentation makes a tour of 6 Mayan temples: San Gervasio, Chichen Itzá, Uxmal, Edzná, Palenque and Bonampak, exploring the importance of the orientations of the temples in relation to the movement of the Sun, the Moon and Venus.  Entry is included with regular admission to the Lafayette Science Museum (http://lafayettesciencemuseum.org/admission/).  Intended for age 10 to adult.
