Conrail and Phillips Sites
Off Coxton Road
Duryea, PA United States

Frances Dorrance Chapter 11 of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology will be hosting an open house at its ongoing Conrail (36LU169) and Phillips excavation sites in Duryea, Pennsylvania (near Pittston). The public is welcome to attend to see what we do, ask questions, or participate in hands-on work with our friendly guidance. Exhibits of locally found artifacts, as well as snacks and drinks, will be available. These sites have turned up a sequence of artifacts dating from approximately 8000 BCE to the modern industrial era. The open house will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 7. The sites are located along an access road off Coxton Road near Main Street in Duryea–look for signs.
