Open Lab Day

October 12, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm CDT

Parkin Archeological State Park
#60 Hwy 184 North
Parkin, AR 72373 United States

The archeology lab is working on processing the artifacts from the recent excavation of a site near Parkin, AR. We will be washing and sorting the artifacts that were discovered in order to learn more about the people who lived at that site and how they may have been related to the people at the Parkin site. (You may be the first person to get to look at some of the artifacts in hundreds of years!) No experience is necessary and you can drop in any time and stay as long as you would like. We’ll show you the beginning of the process in how archeologists take the artifacts from a site and interpret them to understand how people lived in the past. We hope to see you there!
