Painted Reflections: Isomeric Design in Ancestral Pueblo Pottery
One of the most distinctive yet least understood aspects of ancestral Pueblo pottery painting is the widespread use of isometric design (figure-and- ground illusions). Join Dr. Traugott and Dr. Ortman as they discuss their new book which explores: the origins, production and potential meanings of these fascinating patternsand how they were connected to the development of Pueblo technology, philosophy and society.
Hosted by the CU Natural History Museum (Henderson Building on Broadway) in the Paleontology Hall.
