Printing the Past: Technological Innovation in Archaeology at Florida State University is an exhibition of the use of innovative technology to recreate objects and landscapes relevant for understanding recent fieldwork by archaeologists from the FSU Classics Department. Featured are artifacts from the three Roman sites of Cetamura del Chianti, Cosa and Corinth. Among the items exhibited will be 3-D printed objects of ceramics, glass, bone and bronze and laser cut topographical maps of Cetamura. All items are touchable. The exhibition opens on Oct. 11 at the Dirac Science Library at FSU, with closing projected for November 22, 2019. Among the events scheduled are an opening reception on October 11 and a day of teaching archaeology to children with visual disabilities from the Tallahassee-based Lighthouse of the Big Bend, October 12, 2019.
