In 1650, Thomas Doughty, an illiterate Scottish foot solder, was captured at the Battle of Dunbar. He was then transported to Massachusetts and sold as forced labor. He was one of 420 Scottish prisoners who shared this fate. Author Dr. Carol Gardner will share how recent archaeological discoveries at Durham Cathedral in England have contributed to this story.
