The Native American “Nature Coast”

October 14, 2019 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park
4150 South Suncoast Boulevard
Homosassa, FL 34448 United States

Our modern landscape has been built atop the remains of past cultures. Nearly 15,000 years before Columbus, prehistoric people hunted and gathered, settled and grew – across what we now call Florida. Though we accept they were here, what do you really know about them? In honor of Indigenous Peoples Day, please join the Florida Public Archaeology Network in a presentation and discussion about the lives and lifeways of the Native Americans that once called the Nature Coast home.
