Have you ever wanted to be an archaeologist?  Or maybe just to get your hands dirty giving it a try?  You will have a chance to do just that at the Leslie Morris Park on Fort Hill on Saturday June 8th 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.   You are invited to participate in and learn about the archaeology and history of Fort Hill.  The City of Frankfort Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Sites and the Kentucky Archaeological Survey will provide a variety of activities at the park.  Visitors will be able to participate in an archaeology dig under the supervision of professional archaeologists, talk with archaeologists, tour the dig site, and tour the Civil War forts.  You can learn about the latest findings in the park concerning its Civil War, farming, and Native American history.  Join us and help us make history at Fort Hill.

We are also seeking volunteers to sign up to help with the archaeological survey of the park taking place June 6- 13 as well. For more information call the Capital City Museum, 352-2182 or send an email to
