Founded in Carrara in 2013 by the archaeologist Cristiana Barandoni, the newborn Academic Archaeology Centre "Apuo-Versiliese" (Centro Studi Archeologici Apuo-Versiliese),  thanks to its section dedicated to education, organizes a full day of workshops for adults and children who will have the opportunity to benefit from two Experimental archaeology sessions.
Participants will meet our educators at MUSEO CIVICO DEL MARMO DI CARRARA, whose collections support the teaching of local history, from the ancient Romans to contemporary forms of art such as sculptures. Free 1.30 hour activities with exciting experiences  for chidren and families
In the morning from 9.30 to 12.30 
  • Master potter and the life around the Roman kilns of Piazza Mercurio (1.30 h) 
  • I want to be an archaeologist! (1.30 h) 
And the second, in the afternoon from 15.00 to 17.00 with two other EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS
  • The magic of the shaman
  • The Romans and the quarries of Carrara. The ancient marble as a resource: we do a Roman mosaic
