This “Green Tour” will focus on the Hancock Shakers’ 19th-century water power technology and other examples of renewable energy at the Village from the past and present.  Included will be a demonstration of the 1858 water power turbine, and an easy to moderate hike to the Village’s North Family archaeological sites to view ruins of Shaker mill buildings and dams.

Clothing and footwear appropriate for walking in fields and woods is required.

Admission: Free (Regular admission will apply to participants wishing to visit the rest of the village)
