This lecture explores the definition, function and understanding of what is meant by "demons" in ancient Egypt and in the ancient world at large.  Magicall spells, rituals, and objects produced from the early Pharaonic to the Greco-Roman periods in Egypt are presented and discussed.  Comparative views with other demonologies of the ancient world are also explored.
